Time to ditch uniques and page views for engagement in measuring digital audiences

Uniques and its “evil twin”, page views, are still with us — offered as the basic yardstick for digital audience for both individual sites and whole industries. But there is an increasing chorus making the cyber case that attention and engagement matter more than these overused metrics. Source: Poynter Institute.

What is scary are the stats as to how few people actually read the links that they share on social media platforms!

Karl Lagerfeld’s luxury Chanel supermarket

Fashion is not all about clothes and an overall extravagant look, a notion proven by Karl Lagerfeld and his pretty fresh ideas that surprised the audience during Chanel’s womenswear collection show during Paris Fashion Week 2014. So, what made this show so special? The Paris catwalk was moved from the runway to a seemingly-ordinary supermarket – more precisely, Karl Lagerfeld’s luxury Chanel supermarket. The surroundings of Grand Palais of Paris were set to make viewers feel like they’re in the real market, with the inclusion of specially-made, Chanel-stamped products to convince them. A great idea: fashion meets reality. Sort of!
