Internet-connected Africans from the millennial generation appear to be prioritising spending on internet data and cellular airtime ahead of purchasing electricity, medical and dental care, or insurance when it comes to allocating their budgets for discretionary spending each month.
That’s one of the key insights to emerge from a study of the digital habits of a mobile community made up of 1653 young African internet users from South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and Tanzania. The research was compiled by digital research and insights organisation Nudge, using Vision Critical’s software-as-a-service insight community platform.
