Social media networks are such an integral part of our lives, we can’t imagine living without them and there are two key factors driving further growth of the social web in 2013:
- Smobile: the fact that mobile is how most people connect to their social networks is due to the fact that the number of people accessing the internet via a mobile phone has increased by 60.3% to 818.4 million in the last two years.
- Silver surfers: the adoption of social by older users – on Twitter, the 55-64 year age bracket is the fastest growing demographic, with a 79% growth rate since 2012. On Facebook and Google+, it is 45-54 year olds, increasing by 46% and 56% respectively.
